American Inflatables Inc. (Inflatables) was founded in California in August, 1998. The company manufactures and markets inflatable blimps and other custom inflatable products. These products are typically used for advertising purposes. Through customer contacts made at various industrial trade shows, the company has formed a nationwide sales territory and also has developed selected international accounts.

Competitive Advantages

Inflatables possesses a number of competitive advantages over other manufacturers in this industry. Most notable is its ability to offer customers a full range of helium flying and cold air ground-based products. The company has demonstrated expertise in the manufacture and sale of giant replica products as well as miniature replicas. Many of Inflatable's competitors focus on only one type of product. Inflatables believes its products are of the highest quality in the industry and is not aware of any competitor which has a production cost advantage.

Further, Inflatables has the ability to design and produce the most extensive array of products in the industry and its custom design ability is among the industry leaders.

Operations

The company's products are primarily manufactured at its 10,000 square foot facility in Costa Mesa, CA using lightweight coated nylon webbing and stainless steel rivets. Inflatable products are designed to be portable and easily installed/dismantled without special equipment. As the company's sales increase, it is anticipated the company will outsource a major portion of its production to low cost countries.

Most of the company's orders are for inflatable products custom designed to each customer's exact needs. Therefore, Inflatables does not maintain an inventory of work in process or finished goods.

After customers has approve the design of their inflatable, the manufacturing staff requires approximately seven to ten days to complete the product. Finished products are delivered overnight with instructions to assist the customer in erecting the product for maximum advertising effectiveness.

Products

Inflatables designs, manufactures and markets both hot air and cold air inflatable products. Hot air products are generally filled with helium, which floats through the air. Cold air products are usually powered by an electrical fan (also manufactured by Inflatables), which provides a constant flow of air.

The company's products provide a low cost, effective means of advertising and promotion to a wide array of customers. They are designed for rapid set up and deflation and can be used indoors or outdoors. Unlike more traditional forms of advertising, inflatable products are reusable and offer an aerial advantage with visibility from great distances.
